Where Do Google My Business Posts Appear? – GMB Posts appear in the posts tab for users on mobile and on Google My Business Websites. Posts may also appear on Maps, Search, and the Overview tab for listings based on various signals.
What Information Can Posts Contain? – Posts can contain text (around 200 words or 1,500 characters), photos, videos and hyperlinks in the form of naked links and/or a button, such as Learn More.
At the moment there are 4 types of posts:
– What’s New Posts: These are posts containing general info you want to provide to the public. These posts are no longer visible after seven days but they still exist.
– Event Posts: If you’re planning on being involved in an event in some fashion then you can use this post to promote that. These types of post require a start and end date and time. This type of post remains visible until the expiry date.
– Offer Posts: If you’re offering any type of deal you can use this type of post to let people know. Like Event Posts, they require a start and end date and time andt remain visible until the expiry date. Google’s TOS state that this has to be a real offer.
– Product Posts: You can use these to really highlight a specific product your business sells. For example, a clothing store may highlight a particular line of shoes they carry. These posts are no longer visible after seven days but they still exist.
To keep your GMB fresh it is good to create a minimum of one post per week and if you share your posts to your social accounts you will see an impact on the effectiveness of your GMB.
Posts show up on your GMB Website.
